Upper Gwynedd Parks and Recreation Program Refund Policy

There are no refunds unless a program is cancelled. If paying by credit card, the processing fee will not be refunded for any reason. Upper Gwynedd Township does not collect the processing fee. For those registering for an athletic or outdoor program such as tennis, soccer, basketball, etc. ; please be aware, Upper Gwynedd Township Parks and Recreation will reserve one day for a rain out. In the event that there is more than one day rained out, there will be no refund. Upper Gwynedd Township will only host one rain date per program.

Adult Fitness:

Sculpt and Define

Whether you want to get in shape for summer or just feel better about yourself, this super-slimming, muscle building, body-sculpting class will help you lose weight and BLAST calories. It is a low-impact fat burning aerobic and strength training style class, which shapes the whole-body using resistance bands, weights, exercise balls, and cardio drills. This class will help you tone and build muscle definition.

When: Mondays, 6:15-7:15PM

Power Pump

Increase muscle activation, burn calories faster, and maximize results in our Power Pump class. With new innovative weight training equipment, you are sure to see quick results. The class is a muscle sculpting class limited to 15 people. Only thing you need to bring is your mat and an open mind to a fitter, healthier you!

Ditch the workout and join the party! Zumba is a Latin inspired east-to-follow, calorie burning, dance fitness party. It will energize you, sculpt you and make you smile. This party is designed for all ages, shapes, sizes, and fitness levels.

To participate in this program, the player must know the basics of tennis (groundstrokes, volleys, serve) and how to keep score.  Players who participated in 2+ sessions of the beginner class are eligible.



Pick-Up Volleyball

Join us on Saturdays at Garfield Park for pick-up volleyball! Open to all! No registration required. Please wear sneakers and comfortable clothing.

Summer Adult Yoga:

Yoga at Parkside Place Park:

Please join Whole Body Yoga Studio and bring together our love for the outdoors and yoga! Disconnecting from our busy lives and to-do lists is so important, and what better way to connect with ourselves than outside in nature? (Can you say win win?) Class will meet in the field next to the Park Pavilion on Wednesdays and run from 6-7 pm. (Location may change around Parkside Place Park, so please keep alert for updates day of! We will always meet in the field by the pavilion.)

Pay $25 per class or purchase a 10 class card and join us all summer long! (Your class card will be good for in-studio classes too if you miss some outdoor ones.) We know summer weather doesn’t always cooperate and so we will take class inside at our beautiful studio located in the heart of North Wales, less than 1 mile from the park!

Drop-In Yoga at Garfield Park:

Let’s wind down our busy week as we step into nature and onto our yoga mats together as a community. This all levels class is led by 500 hr RYT, Jennifer Treichel, on the second and fourth Fridays of the summer months from 5-6 pm at Garfield Park on Garfield Avenue. This class is donation-based, as I would like yoga to be accessible to everyone no matter you finically means. No registration needed!

New to yoga? All you need is a mat or towel and your willingness to try something new! I hope to connect with you as a community, outside as we connect with ourselves and nature. Email for questions.

Pickleball Lessons:

Join Jerry Tozzi for Pickleball lessons this summer! Enjoyed by players of all ages & skill levels. Beginners will be taught all facets of the game including mechanics, shot selection, strategies & keeping score. Intermediates looking to improve their game will be given strategies, drills, and tips to enhance their game to the next level.


Beginner lessons- Mondays

Fall Session 1: Sept. 6-26, NO class on Monday, Sept. 5 due to Labor Day, the first class will take place on Tuesday Sept. 6 but will continue on Mondays for the remainder of the session.

Martial Arts & Self-Defense Class:

This Martial-Arts and Self-Defense Class involves many aspects of the martial-arts including Muay Thai, Sanda, Kung-fu, Kickboxing, Boxing, Aikido, and various others. *Please note, this class is taking place indoors for this session.

Make Your Own Bug Spray & Body Scrub Workshop

Did you know that many beauty and body products have a list of ingredients that are harmful to your health? Want to learn how to make your own hand, face and body scrub? It will scrub away the dead skin cells and moisture the skin plus smell amazing with pure therapeutic grade essential oils. With summertime means more bugs that bite. How about making your own bug spray to keep them away? Join Nicole Schillinger dietitian and certified aromatherapist for this hands-on workshop where you will leave with your own products.

Know Your Medicare Options Workshop

Join us for this FREE event!  During this educational seminar, you will learn how Medicare works and what it covers, how Part “D” prescription cards work, how to pick the right one for you, and the difference between Medicare supplements and Medicare Advantage plans. Run by DelVal Senior Advisors.

Nor-Gwyn Pool | Red Cross Lifeguarding Course

When: August 8-11, 7:30-11:30AM

Where: Nor-Gwyn Pool – 1 Parkside Place, North Wales PA

Fee: $300 per person

Participants: Must be at least 15 years old by August 11th, 2022

The classes will be held in person but include an online component to be completed prior to the end of the course. 

We anticipate there will be job openings at Nor-Gwyn Pool through the remainder of the summer for those who have successfully completed this course.
