Upper Gwynedd Parks and Recreation Program Refund Policy

There are no refunds unless a program is canceled. For those registering for an athletic or outdoor program such as tennis, soccer, basketball, etc. ; please be aware, Upper Gwynedd Township Parks and Recreation will do our best to schedule one addition or extended lesson for a rain out. In the event that there is more than one day rained out, there will be no refund.

 

WINTER/SPRING 2024 PROGRAMS: 

 

Young Rembrandts: Elementary Drawing/Cartooning Class

Our elementary/cartooning class combines our innovative guided instruction, topics that kids love and relate to, and instructors that know how to reach this group; we take kids from thinking they’re not ‘artists’ to knowing they can achieve this, and everything else, they put their minds to. Our light-hearted subject matter will engage children, their sense of humor and their vivid imaginations.

When: Spring Session: March 30-May 25 (NO class 4/27)

Where: Parkside Place Park: Community Center

Time: 11:00AM-12:00PM

Fee: $163 per person

NEW! Drama Club

In Theatre Horizon Drama Club, students are familiarized with the fundamentals of acting as they create and then perform their own original play. Led by professional teaching artists, students practice and develop the Connecting C's: confidence & creativity, collaboration & communication, and community & care. Class culminates in a final showcase as students perform their world premiere original play for an audience of family and friends.

When: Winter Session: Sundays Jan 28 – March 17 2:00-4:00PM | Spring Session: Fridays April 5 – May 24 6:00-8:00PM

NEW! Lantern/Luminaire Workshop with InDi Studio

Light up a cool fall evening with your own unique Lantern or Luminaire! In this workshop you will work with clay and learn hand building, texture, and glazing techniques in order to style your Lantern/Luminaire according to your creative vision and home design.   All instructions, materials, and firing included. Projects will be available for pickup one week after the class date at the township office. NEW! Spring Flower Workshop with InDi Studio

Bring the Spring inside with your own flower that will never die. In this Spring Flower workshop, you will learn hand building, glazing, and texture techniques to create your own unique flower to decorate the center of a table or hang on your wall. All instructions, materials, and firing included. Flowers will be delivered to the Township 10 days after the original class date. NEW! Spring LEGO: Spring into STEM with LEGO® Materials

Celebrate the coming of Spring with Play-Well and tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build chirping birds, design blossoming flowers, and take a ride on a paddle boat. Design and build as never before and explore your craziest ideas.

SUMMER 2024 PROGRAMS:

NEW! Herbiznet Kids Multi-Art/Craft Workshop

When: Saturdays, June 29-July 27  

June 29 – String Art: String Art or Pin and Thread art, is characterized by an arrangement of colored thread strung between points to form geometric patterns or representational design. Thread or string is wound around a grid of nails hammered into a wooden board or foam board. Though straight lines are formed by the string, the slightly different angles and metric positions at which strings intersect gives the appearance.

July 6 - Pebble Art: Pebble Art or Rock Art is a form on objective art where pebbles are used to be painted on and / or combined to create a picture together with other art forms (painting, drawing etc.) Garden animals, scenes in nature are most common painted in Pebble art.

July 13 - Pot Painting: Pot Painting is a super pretty and interesting art form. As the name suggests, it is a hobby in which we decorate clay pots and vases in various ways. Most commonly done with acrylic colors to create interesting designs and make them look vibrant with primary colors and basic designs found in nature.

July 20 – Paper Quilling: Paper Quilling is the art of rolled paper! It's a fascinating and delicate art form that involves rolling and shaping narrow strips of paper into various shapes and designs. These shapes are then arranged to create intricate and beautiful designs, often used for cards, frames, and other decorative items.

July 27 – Fabric Jewelry Marking: Fabric Jewelry Making is a great way to add a soft, textile touch to your accessories. Fabric jewelry making involves using fabric as the primary material to create unique and colorful pieces, like bracelets, necklaces, or earrings.
