Right to Know Request

Right to Know requests can be mailed in or dropped off at the station. There is a $15 charge per incident for a Right to Know Letter. Requests can take up to 72 hours to be processed. When you are notified that your letter has been completed, you can pick it up from Upper Gwynedd Police Station any time during business hours which is Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Only cash or check will be accepted.

Accident reports do not require you to request a Right to Know letter. There is a $15 charge for a copy of an accident report. You can get a copy of the report online at crashdocs.org or the report can be picked up at our station any time during normal business hours. Only cash or check will be accepted when picking up at the station.

Right to Know Appeals

As per the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, Investigative Reports are exempt from access to the public. Should the information that you were provided not satisfy your requests, please contact me so that we may discuss the matter. If you would like to appeal any investigative report or information that was not provided to you, the contact person is Deputy District Attorney Steven Latzer, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, PO Box 311, Norristown, PA 19404. You may also reference website: http://montcopa.org/da/site/default.asp. You have the right to appeal any other denial of a request for information to the Office of Open Records, Commonwealth Keystone Building, 400 North Street, Harrisburg, PA 17120-0225. The appeal(s) must be in writing and sent to the appropriate office within 15 days of my response to you. Again, you may also contact me prior to filing such appeal(s) to discuss and further review the matter.
