Liberty Bell Trail

Liberty Bell Trail – Planning and Feasibility Study

Eight municipalities in Montgomery County collaborated with the PA Environmental Council and consulting firm, Michael Baker International, to advance the planning of the Liberty Bell Trail (LBT). Those municipalities include Upper Gwynedd Township, North Wales Borough, Lansdale Borough, Hatfield Township, Hatfield Borough, Franconia Township, Souderton Borough and Telford Borough. This feasibility study was a grant funded project via the TCDI funding through the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission.

The section of trail related to UGT includes 2.3 miles of trail installation from Parkside Place to Stony Creek Park in Lansdale. This important connection will connect our two municipalities and connect UGT residents to the Borough of Lansdale and all it has to offer inLiberty Bell Trail study-coverpage shopping, events, restaurants, and parks. On April 19, 2022, the Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to accept and approve the Feasibility study and to include it as part of Upper Gwynedd Township plans.
