We currently have vacancies on several of our Boards and Committees including the Environmental Advisory Council, Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board, NorGwyn Pool Commission, and Human Relations Advisory Council. Environmental Advisory Council
Are you a tree arborist, tree tender, or an environmental enthusiast? The Township is accepting resumes for a vacancy on the Environmental Advisory Council (EAC). The role of the EAC is to advise the Township Board of Commissioners on matters dealing with protection, conservation, management and use of natural resources, including air, tree, land and water resources located within the limits of Upper Gwynedd Township, to assist in the ongoing efforts of the Board of Commissioners to preserve open space within the Township, and to help educate residents of Upper Gwynedd about the importance of environmental protection. The EAC meets monthly on the first Wednesday of each month along with additional volunteer hours. This is a volunteer position that would be appointed for a 2-year term. Planning Commission
Are you interested in Land Planning or Redevelopment in UGT? The Township is currently accepting resumes for a vacancy on the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission is responsible for the review and recommendations concerning subdivision and land development plans, recommendation of ordinances regarding zoning and subdivision/land development, and promotion of interest in the Comprehensive Plan. Zoning Hearing Board
The Township is accepting resumes for a vacancy as the alternate on the Zoning Hearing Board (ZHB). The primary purpose of the ZHB is to help assure fair and equitable application and administration of the zoning ordinance by hearing appeals on the Zoning Officers' decisions and by granting relief from the literal enforcement of the ordinance in certain hardship situations. The ZHB schedules hearings on applications and appeals that come before it, takes evidence, and issues written decisions with findings of fact and conclusions of law. The alternate member is utilized to fill in should a member not be available to attend a meeting or there is a conflict of interest. NorGwyn Pool Commission
Upper Gwynedd Township is accepting resumes for the vacancy on the NorGwyn Pool Commission. The Pool Commission is responsible for oversight of the pool operation including setting rates, implementation of rules/regulations, hiring of paid staff, and ensuring the pool is properly maintained. This is a volunteer position that will require time and commitment to the pool’s oversight. The Commission meets the 3rd Monday of the month at 7:30pm. To learn more: https://www.norgwynpool.com/

Human Relations Advisory Council
Upper Gwynedd Township is accepting resumes for two vacancies on the Human Relations Commission. The HRC is composed of 5 residents and/or business owners of the Township appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The purpose of the HRC is to ensure that all persons, regardless of actual or perceived race, color, religious creed, ancestry, sex, national origin, handicap, use of guide or support animals because of blindness, deafness or physical handicap of the user or the user is a handler or trainer of support or guide animals, or sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression enjoy the full benefits of citizenship and are afforded equal opportunities for employment, housing and public accommodation within Upper Gwynedd Township. This is a volunteer position and the appointment is for a 1-year or 3-year term.
