Tax Collector Responsibilities

The Treasurer/Tax Collector is an elected official of the Township. It is the responsibility of the Treasurer/Tax Collector to collect all County, Township, School, and other taxes within the Township which are levied by the authorities empowered to do so.

The Tax Collector maintains a separate office which is located off of the lobby / vestibule on the administration side in the Township Building. Office hours are Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.. Additional hours are listed on the front of the tax bill.

The Tax Office is CLOSED on Election Days and Legal Holidays.

If you are a resident of Upper Gwynedd Township you pay a 1% Earned Income Tax. Please be advised that 1/2 % goes to the North Penn School District and 1/2 % goes to Upper Gwynedd Township.

The LST (Local Service Tax) no longer exists but was replaced with the EMST (Emergency Municipal Service Tax) of $52 per year. This tax is assessed to only those who work in Upper Gwynedd Township and is to be deducted at the rate of $1.00 per week (or equivalent) from one's paycheck.
