The Upper Gwynedd Police Department was created in February 1951 and for over 50 years has been committed to serving our community in a highly professional and ethical manner. The Department consists of twenty-one sworn Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certified officers. The structure of the Department includes the Chief of Police, a Deputy Chief of Police, three full-time investigators and sixteen officers assigned to patrol duties. There are five Sergeants who direct thirteen officers within four patrol units and the detective division. The department also employs three civilian staff members. The Department, since its inception, has worked closely with Township Government by assisting in its traffic planning and development, our business society and their issues and the youth of our community as-well-as Ordinance enforcement. Services are provided to various groups and their interests through officers with special assignments and interests. The Department is committed to our Community and the quality of life issues of its residents, businesses and their employees.
