Upper Gwynedd Township Increases Sewer Rates

At the December Public Meeting the Board of Commissioners approved an increase in Sewer Rental Fees for both residential and commercial / industrial.  This increase was necessary due to the increases in cost of chemical treatment and electricity, the requirement for seven day per week testing and lab analysis, the on going inflow and infiltration program and increased engineering costs that are related to DEP regulations, as well as the further expansion of the Wastewater Treatment Facility.

The new residential rate will be $161 semi-annually and will be reflected in the billing for the first period of 2010.  Upper Gwynedd still maintains one of the lowest sewer rates in the area even with this increase.
